In 1934 Carl Sundberg and Montgomery Ferar established Sundberg-Ferar. Their bold, innovative, and enthusiastic ideals have influenced the function, assembly, and appearance of consumer and industrial products representing billions of dollars in sales around the world. In addition, the two founders have been mentors to many of today's design leaders who, at one time in their careers, have held positions at Sundberg-Ferar. "Carl and Monte" stories depicting their pioneering spirit are still widely told throughout the industry today. Their professional relationship continued until 1975, when they retired. Both men passed away within 6 days of each other in 1982. However, their unprecedented creative energy has remained the backbone of the firm throughout Sundberg-Ferar's long history. The firm's widespread influence is evident in the multitude of Sundberg-Ferar product designs that have been produced and marketed by a vast array of clients. Products designed by Sundberg-Ferar include home appliances, automotive products, industrial electronic products, mass transit vehicles, vending machines, aircraft interiors, medical tools, and concept models for the NASA space station.
