US industrial designer who graduated from Pratt Institute in 1942. He worked with Grumman Aircraft, Lippincott & Margulies, and Raymond Loewy Associates in New York before taking a position with the Chicago design office of Robert Davol Budlong. After Budlong died in 1955, Schory took over the office and re-named it Ken Schory Associates. He then partnered with Tom Steinbach (b. 1921), and the firm was re-named Schory-Steinbach Associates. Schory was a member of ASID prior to the formation of IDSA in 1965. His son, Ken, (Kenneth C.) Schory (b. 1946) is a distinguished industrial designer and Fellow of IDSA (See IDSA Academy of Fellows) who served 20 years with the National Cash Register Company (NCR) in Dayton, OH. After his retirement in 2000, he began a new career as a professional photographer.
